For this trip to Disney, we have a reservation at Fort Wildnerness (always stayed at Shades of Green prior to this trip). If available in 2018, we will purchase the special militaty tickets. Do we qualify to purchase a Disney Dining plan?

Greetings, Margo, and thank you for your service! I’m so glad to hear about your upcoming trip at the gorgeous Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness. There are so many activities, from the pony trails to the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue, you may never leave the resort. Make sure you check on the Military Room Discounts (you can always alter a package prior to check in) before you depart on your trip.

I’m glad to hear you also know about the Military Salute tickets available to Active and Retired service members with a military ID. You can also secure special party tickets at a military discount, so if you’re in town for those bits of seasonal magic, be sure to purchase a ticket for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. As to your question about the Disney Dining Plan, the plans are only reserved for those that pay a full hotel room rate as well as having that hotel room with a ticket package. You won’t be eligible to snag that killer free dining deal with your current discounts. However, that shouldn’t dampen your fun! Look into making your trip as personalized as possible with tours, makeover experiences and those unique party atmospheres.

Please come back with more planning questions. I can’t wait to hear what fun you have planned, just around the river bend. I’ll see ya' real soon! ~ Lindsey P.
