    Dreena from NY Asked

Hello! Our trip is coming up in August! I’ve been reading conflicting info about using Fastpass+ with Rider Switch. We are two adults and a baby, do we both need fast passes for in order to use rider switch on FOP and SDMT? Or just one of us?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Dreena! My family uses Rider Switch all the time when we visit Walt Disney World Resort. It’s something we can’t do without since our big kid loves thrill rides but little sister doesn’t quite measure up.

The only changes that have taken place with the Rider Switch Service are that there are no more paper passes (it’s all digital now) and that your return window for your second rider will take place 10 minutes + current wait time later. You can still combine FP+ and Rider Switch to make the most of your vacation. For instance, my son and husband will make a FP+ for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train while I wait with little sister. We all approach the Cast Member at the front of the line and request a Rider Switch (this is where the return passes are given). When the boys are done riding, we meet up for a snack or shopping, and then as my return window approaches, we make our way back to the attraction. I will ride with my son using the FP+ line as a compliment. So we only need FP+ reservations for the first set of riders.  You OR your husband will be able to use one FP+ reservation while the other waits with baby. This can really extend the fun on your trip.

If I can help you find the Baby Care Centers within the 4 main theme parks,  give you some tips for traveling with a little one or how to make vacation a little easier, please let me know. You’ve got a friend in me! ~ Lindsey P.
