We have a trip booked to Aulani in October. Sadly my daughter just broke her ankle and may be using mobility aids (wheelchair, walker). Can you tell me how accessible and accommodating the resort is, especially the kids' club? Thanks so much!

    Hi Angela,

You are getting so close to your upcoming vacation at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawai‘i...you must be so excited! My family enjoyed a wonderful stay at Aulani in March and we simply can't wait to return. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Angela, I am so sorry to hear about your daughter's injury, but rest assured, Aulani and its wonderful Cast Members will certainly be able to accommodate her so you can all still enjoy a fabulous trip. The Resort is very accessible and accommodating for those with mobility restrictions, with plenty of wide hallways and doorways and elevator access throughout the Resort.

I am happy to confirm that your daughter will still be able to enjoy children's activities Aunty's Beach House during your stay. Be sure to complete online registration at least 2 days in advance, leaving full details of any medical conditions or special accommodations required.

Aulani has complimentary wheelchairs available for guests to use at the Resort on a first-come, first-served basis, including a limited amount of specially designed wheelchairs with larger wheels for enjoying Aulani's beautiful sandy beach and lagoon, which was one of my family's favorite place to relax during our trip. Special lifts are also available for guests requiring assistance transferring from a wheelchair to the pool.

Angela, if you feel your daughter would benefit from an accessible room (providing wider doorways, roll-in showers, hand rails, or lower beds) I suggest contacting Member Services at (800) 800-9800 if you booked your room through Disney Vacation Club, or otherwise Aulani directly at (866) 443-4763 to make a request.

    Mahalo! Trish
