Hi! I am travelling to To WDW 1/14-1/17 with 4yr and 16m mon kids. Noticed AK is open unitl 8pm on 1/14- is this an ok time to see active animals or should we wat and go in morning? Thanks

Animal Kingdom animals have a mind of their own and there is no way to know whey they will be most photogenic for the guests.  I have found that a lot depends on the weather. During the hot summer months I suggest you go early or late to see them active and moving around.  During the cooler winter months they can be seen finding a warm spot of sun to enjoy during the day and huddling during the cooler parts of the day.  Probably the most active time for me to have ever seen the safari animals has been during a light rain.  They all acted like little kids running and jumping and enjoying being out and getting muddy!

As a day goes on the Safari attraction will become more crowded and the wait times can get quite long unless you have a Fast Pass.  If you are thinking of going to the Animal Kingdom Park late in the day on 1/14 then you might find a long wait.  If you choose to go early the next morning you can often get right on the Safari without getting a Fast Pass and save time for other things in the park.

The animals are so unpredictable so I would base your decision on wait times and best schedule for your children. No matter what, you will see almost everything that is on the savannahs whether they are laying down or jumping around!
