    We are travelling to WDW August 17-25 at the Art of Animation Resort. There are two adults and one 5 year old boy in our party. Character dining options are overwheleming!! We have done Crystal Palace and Chef MIckeys before - any other options to suggest?

    There are a lot of options. Here are some of my favorites;

    Donald's Safari Breakfast: Sure, we don't always go for the food, but at this location you get some more exotic buffet options mixed in with the American classics. I also love the ambiance and setting.

    1900 Park Fare: An often overlooked destination, and while dinner here is a good choice if you have a Cinderella fan in the family, breakfast might offer a better mix of characters, including Mary Poppins.

    Cinderella's Royal Table: Historically the most popular character meal of all, the food is quite improved. We are particularly fond of the dinners there. But maybe not ideal for a boy.

    Mickey's Backyard BBQ: No autographs, but a chance for him to dance with Mickey and Friends. Toss in better than average food, an outdoor setting, and a live band, and you get a different experience.

    There are others, to be sure, but these are some of my favorites. Don't forget to consider dinner shows too. The Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue is probably our family's all time favorite meal at Walt Disney World, and while there are no characters, the entertainers are character enough.

    Write me back with any follow-up questions!

    Have a magical (and delicious) vacation!
