    Carrie Asked

I am travelling from the UK and have a question about ID. Is a UK driving license accepted as a form of ID at Disney or will I need to carry my passport to get alcoholic drinks?

    Hi Carrie!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

With the recent enhancement to the Disney Dining Plans to include an alcoholic beverage with meals (for guests of age 21 or over) this means you will have to carry Identification with you to qualify for this offer.  Additionally, if you wish to buy alcohol anywhere at Walt Disney World you may also be asked to present your ID.  Coming from the UK myself, I always carry my UK Driving Licence with me (the plastic card version, not the paper copy), and if I wanted to buy alcohol I would also take a photocopy of my passport - but it is important to ensure that your photo is clear, and your date of birth is visible. You could also take a photo of your passport and keep it on your phone, and this should save you the need to carry your passport around - which is something I would prefer not to do.  If you have both documents (UK Driving Licence and Passport) this should be enough.  At Walt Disney World you cannot present only a UK Driving Licence for this purpose.

Remember all the important planning dates for your holiday: dining reservations can be made up to 180 days ahead of your trip, either online or by using your My Disney Experience mobile app; and FastPass+ selections can be made 60 days in advance (if you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel), and you can do this by using your My Disney Experience account.

Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions.  We will be happy to help you plan your magical holiday to Walt Disney World, and keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for all the official news and updates on any events that may be happening during your visit.
