Hi, we are travelling from the UK on our first visit to Disney in August with our then 9 year old and in-laws. It is a surprise holiday! Is it possible to get through Orlando Int. or are there lots of Disney adverts there? Hoping to tell her at the gates!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Hannah ~

I'm so excited to hear you are planning your first trip to Disney World!

You can try to make it to the gates but it may be difficult especially with a 9 year old. I have a 9 year old and I can't get anything past him - kids are so perceptive. When you first get off the plane, you'll likely see a sign regarding Disney's Magical Express Service. Then you may see lots people getting ready to depart Orlando with Disney souvenEARs and wearing Disney t-shirts and hats. Those will be her first clues.

Once you reach the main terminal, you'll find lots of shops from all of the theme parks in Central Florida including Disney's EarPort store with a large statute of Goofy just outside. You have to go near the shops to go down to baggage claim and ground transportation. There are signs everywhere directing Guests to Disney's Magical Express and advertisements for Disney and the other theme parks.

You may get lucky and your daughter may not notice but there is a huge Disney presence in the Orlando International Airport. However, if you are staying on Disney property and planning to take Disney's Magical Express to your hotel, you'll never get her to the theme park gates without her knowing. Disney is painted on the buses and they play a super cute video on the way from the airport to Disney.

If you don't tell her about your surprise holiday prior to your trip and want to be able to capture her reaction on video, I'd be prepared to do it in the airport. She'll likely figure it out soon after you land.

Please feel free to visit us with all of your planning questions. It would be our pleasure to assist you!

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
