    Kirsten from Herts Asked

We are travelling to Orlando from the UK next month. We plan to spend 5 days in the parks, our first visit! Will it be cheaper to buy a 5 day premium ticket direct from Disney before we leave the UK or at the gate when we arrive? (My sons are 4 & 7).

    Hi Kirsten,

How exciting that you will be visiting for the first time and in less than a month! Your boys are going to love it!

According to the UK version of the Walt Disney World website the current price of a 5 day premium ticket is £232 per adult and £204 per child. This ticket allows you unlimited access to the 4 theme parks plus 5 total admissions to the 2 water parks, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, DisneyQuest or Disney's Oak Trail Golf Course. I'm not sure if you are aware or not but it is currently exactly the same price for a 14 day ultimate ticket which gives you unlimited access to all of the places included within the 5 day premium ticket.

The current gate price for a 5 day magic your way ticket as shown on the USA version of the Walt Disney World website is $237 per adult and $214 per child. If you wish to visit the 2 water parks, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, DisneyQuest or Disney's Oak Trail Golf Course then you would need to add the water park fun and more option which would be an additional $54 per person. If you also intend on visiting more than 1 of the 4 theme parks on the same day then you would also need to add the park hopper option which would be a further $54 per person.

To summarise, if you are only planning on visiting the 4 theme parks during your 5 days at the parks then it would be more economical in my opinion to purchase the 5 day magic your way tickets on the gate.

If however you plan on park hopping and visiting any of the water parks or doing other activities included in the water park fun and more option then I believe that it would be better value for money to purchase Disney's 14 day ultimate tickets from the UK before you leave. This will then give you the option of visiting any Disney Park of your choice at any time during the 14 days.

I hope that this information has helped and that you have a magical holiday!
