Hello, we're travelling over in may from australia, staying at the animal kingdom lodge and would like to know what the difference is between a standard room over the savannah and the arusha view rooms?

A visit to Walt Disney World is worth the flying time from Australia to Florida. Around the tenth hour of your flight you might need to remind yourself of this fact. Since you are traveling so far you definitely want to be informed about your room choices.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge has several standard room views. Standard View looks out over the parking lot, Pool View obviously sees the pool, and Savanna View overlooks one of the African animal filled savannas. The Arusha Savanna View overlooks the same savannah that the main lodge and lobby do.There are two other savannas- Sunset and Uzima- that rooms also overlook. Staying at this hotel with giraffes and kudus outside our window is one of my favorite Disney experiences so I would recommend spending the extra amount for a Savanna View room. Enough people prefer the Arusha Savanna View that there is an extra charge but I believe you would be happy with any room overlooking the animals.

If you have any more questions about Walt Disney World or surviving excessive hours in the air please contact me. Hope your trip is magical.
