Travelling in Last week of July 11 with a 7yr old. What is the best hotel and should I pick a meal plan? we will be there for 3 days and 4 night, any suggested internerly? thanks

    Hi Muthoni!

I personally think the absolute best Walt Disney World Resort hotel is the Wilderness Lodge.  I love the theming of the resort and I love being able to take a boat to the Magic Kingdom.  Generally speaking, it's also usually less expensive than the other Magic Kingdom Deluxe Resorts.  My 7 year old loves the Wilderness Lodge.

My favorite Disney Moderate Resort is Port Orleans Riverside.  I especially like the Alligator Bayou section.  Both of my boys really enjoy this resort and the swimming pool with its relatively long slide.

My favorite Disney Value Resort is Pop Century.  I think it has the best bus service and the best food court of any property at Walt Disney World.

If you are going to spend a lot of time at your hotel, then I suggest going with a Disney Moderate or Disney Deluxe Resort.  If you are just looking for a place to sleep and shower, then a Disney Value Resort is perfect!

That said, however, I must point out that my 7 year old son's favorite resort is the Animal Kingdom Lodge!  He loves the theming and the fact that there are animals right outside the lodge!  It is absolutely stunning.  It also has a very nice pool!

With regards to a Disney Dining Plan, it depends.  Some guests save a lot of money, some save a little, and some actually spend more by being on a Disney Dining Plan.  I recommend visiting the independent website AllEars.Net.  There you can look at the various menus for the different restaurants at Walt Disney World.  Since you will know how your party dines and what each member might pick off of a menu, you can do the math to figure out if going with a Disney Dining Plan is the best option.

    Good luck with your decision!
