Hello, I am travelling with my family 10/2013, never been to WDW. I am overwhelmed with planning this trip. We are on a budget! Any tips as to where to stay, eat etc.... It will be my husband and I along with an almost 3 year old and 4 1/2 year old girls.

First, feel free to take a deep breath and relax. With your trip over a year away, you have plenty of time to plan your trip  little by little. It certainly doesn't need to be done all at once.  And of course, you are welcome to ask us hundreds of questions (really!); we are absolutely happy to help, especially since we've all been there with planning a first WDW trip.

Second, traveling to WDW on a budget can easily be done. Within all of the Disney resorts, there are Value Resorts that offer all the Disney magic, but in a budget-friendly manner. Our first family trip was at the All-Star Movies Resort, and it was a perfect match for my family. If you can travel in an off-season as you are planning, you might be able to find Special Offers and reduced room rates, too. A reputable travel agent should be able to assist you with finding good rates, too.

You'll also want to look over the Disney Dining Plan.  With careful planning, it can save you money. If you'd like to read more about it, visit www.touringplans.com (look for the blog link) and do a search for The Disney Dining Plan Exposed. Similarly, www.disneyfoodblog.com also has articles on making the most of your dining dollar.

Another great money saver for us is that we never rent a car. We utilize Disney's Magical Express as our to/from airport transportation and then continue to use Disney transportation while at the parks.

I realize this just gets you started, but I thought it will "open the door" for you with your planning.  When you have more questions, we'll be there to help!
