Hi - we will be travelling to Disney in July with our handicapped son (age 14) - not in a wheelchair. What are the possibilities for “fast access” to rides and attractions. When we were there about 5 years ago he was granted a special card? Still exist?

Hi Nikki! Thanks so much for sharing your question with the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm so excited to see you will be returning to Walt Disney World Resort!

There is a new service that is very similar to the Guest Assistance Card (GAC) you used on your prior visit. With the Disability Access Service (DAS), your traveling party will schedule a return time that is comparable to the current queue. Rather than waiting in line, you can enjoy other areas of the theme park and return at the appropriate time. You can also use this service in conjunction with FastPass+

Just as you did with the GAC, when you first arrive at a theme park, visit Guest Relations to discuss the Disability Access Service and/or other accommodations during your visit.

If DAS is provided, you (or someone traveling with you) will complete the registration process. This includes taking a picture of your son, but a photo may be taken of a guardian if that is preferred. Everyone in your traveling party will show valid theme park admission and will then be electronically associated to the DAS. Upon acceptance of the terms and conditions of the DAS, it is good for up to 60 days with valid theme park admission.

For more information, you can contact Disability Services at (407) 560-2547 or by email at disability.services@disneyparks.com.

Please let me know if you need any other information as you plan your vacation. Enjoy every magical moment!
