travelling aug 18th 2 weeks with girls 9 and 12 have dining plan and hopper tickets would like character meals in parks to see characters and get out sun a firework show at epcot maybe pirate and pals will rest on 19th and take an evening meal any help?

Hello Sandra! If I am understanding you correctly, you are looking for advice on where to have an evening meal on your rest day. I hopefully will be able to help you with that! Usually our non-park day is departure day when we fly home and we usually end up at Disney Springs or at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. I think that some of the best and underrated restaurants on Walt Disney World property are resort restaurants. They typically have great theming and you won't need a park ticket to enjoy them. One of my favorite resort restaurants is Kona Cafe at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. The food is amazing during any time of the day (especially the chicken wings), and afterward you can walk along the white sand beach and catch the Wishes Nighttime Spectacular.

*Another great resort restaurant is Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. The atmosphere is so much fun with the server's crazy shenanigans running wild, and the food is fantastic. We recently enjoyed a meal here and ordered the skillet which has a little bit of everything. Also, can't forget the bottomless milkshakes!

*California Grill is a great way to end the night on a high note. You are literally 15 stories high atop Disney's Contemporary Resort with a panoramic view of Cinderella Castle. This is also another way to catch the Wishes Nighttime Spectacular during or after your meal on the observation deck. I highly suggest the sushi.

*Also at Disney's Contemporary Resort is Chef Mickey's. This is my son's favorite place to eat and he requests dinner with Mickey at least once for every trip. The food is buffet-style and meets a wide-range of tastes.

Hopefully this gets you started with a few options to explore, and please don't hesitate to ask if you need anything else. Have a magical Walt Disney World vacation!
