Traveling with 2 15-year olds who tend to sleep late, & are staying at a Disney Resort. If we want to get to the parks early is it appropriate for them to take the shuttle over to meet us when they are ready or do you think they are still too young?

    Susan,

My oldest daughter is not quite 7 so I've not yet covered this territory yet and it's frightening to imagine!  But you can't bury your head in the sand forever, right?  Time marches on.

At 15, let's face it - they will be driving soon.  (See? Scary stuff!)  And I'm sure they will be going places without you, even more than they already do.  Provided they are responsible/reliable kids, I personally would be inclined to allow it.  They will be in public areas and they wouldn't be alone, and as my dad always told me, there is safety in numbers.  I'm guessing that they will also be exploring the parks on their own somewhat, rather than spending the whole day with you?

If it were my child, I would make sure they had a cell phone with them and have them call me when they left and meet up with me when they arrived in the park.  I'm sure I'd be worried, but if I had to sit in the hotel room waiting for them to wake up I'd be going crazy!  Better to get out there and have some fun!

    Have a great vacation!
