I will be traveling with 2 2-year olds & staying at a Disney resort. I rented an SUV but the prices are ridiculous. Do you think a car is needed with kids that age? I'm afraid of needing diapers etc & meltdowns requiring quick getaways in the park

    Hi, Laura!

Well...we have never been fans of spending money to rent a car of any kind while in Walt Disney World (although we have done it when we have to do so.) We'd rather rely on the complimentary transportation offered to Guests who stay in a WDW Resort and take the cash we would have spent on something else, such as a Disney Dining Plan, a day in a water park or, even, keeping it in the bank!

For us, we liked the ease of being dropped off at the park entrances, rather than having to deal with car seats and trams to and from the parking lots. While there are very many people who are fans of having their own cars, we are not among them.

Instead, bring or rent stroller(s) and keep a diaper bag that's filled with everything that you'll need for the day. Stow it with the stroller when you don't need it with you, and take advantage of the Baby Care Centers for great changing / feeding facilities as well. They are air-conditioned, have toddler-friendly seating, microwaves and family-friendly shows on TV; this may be the perfect setting for a mid-day break for a little one who just needs to get out of the sun or crowds and into a quieter setting.

For additional helpful information about traveling to WDW with little ones, be sure to read through this great page of information. There lots of tips there, and I'm sure you'll feel much more informed after having read it. Of course, please send more questions my way as you plan your trip; I'd love to help!
