We are traveling with a 4 year old and his grandparents. There is aa severe allergy to soy and peanuts. We are looking for two unique restaurants to eat at outside of the parks for dinner on days we are not going not going to to a theme park.

Greetings, Sharon! Thank you for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel! When you are traveling with severe allergies, a high level of attention is a must, and no one does dining with food allergies better than Walt Disney World Resort. I traveled with my best friend who is gluten and dairy free, so we paid lots of attention to allergy menus!

Of course, no matter where you choose to dine, a chef will gladly speak with you regarding your allergies and meal preparation. At all quick service restaurants, you’ll find a prepared allergy menu that addresses major allergies like gluten, eggs, fish, dairy, nuts, soy and corn. Meals are prepared on demand and away from cross contamination, so be prepared to wait about 10 extra minutes for your dish. You should also contact a special diets Cast Member by emailing Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com after booking your dining arrangements. You’ll want to send those emails about 2 weeks before you dine.

Now, about those very restaurants! For a special, unique breakfast, I would recommend Cape May Cafe, at the Beach Club Resort. Dine with Minnie and friends in beachy attire over a breakfast of Mickey Waffles, omelettes and more. A chef will speak to you about your meal, but it’s a great choice for your allergies, in my opinion. Plus, you can’t beat those autographs and mouse hugs! Secondly, I would look into a trip to Disney Springs at the very popular T-Rex Cafe. This dino-laden prehistoric atmosphere boasts entertainment like no other, and the chefs here are wonderful about speaking with you about allergies, and one time, brought an icee out for dessert that worked perfectly for our table. Ask to sit in the ice caves for a quieter experience, and a COOL view! Let me know if I can help further. Stay hungry! ~ Lindsey P.
