Hi! We are traveling to WDW with our 2 yr old son and 6 yr old daughter in June. What is the best meal to do at Cind. RT? How about with Chef Mickey? Are there any other must do dining experiences? Other general recommendations? Thx!

    Hi, Ann!

Oh, my! A trip to Walt Disney World with a 2-year-old prince and a 6-year-old princess will be so much fun! How wonderful!

Regarding dining at Cinderella's Royal Table, we truly prefer breakfast for several reasons. First, if your little princess will be dressed in her royal finery, she'll be much cooler in the early morning hours than later in the day. Next, if you schedule your breakfast early in the morning, you can exit Cinderella Castle, after your meal, before the park gets too crowded. We love having a hearty morning meal in the Castle, too, as it helps us last through several hours of touring throughout the day.

That being said, we also had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day dinner at Cinderella' Royal Table, which made it a truly special evening, too. If you have your heart set on staying in Magic Kingdom for both the Mail Street Electrical Parade and Wishes Nighttime Spectacular, a late lunch or an early dinner might be the way to go. I know that my kids don't do well on days when I get them up and out of our resort for an early morning breakfast, then expect them to be happy throughout the nighttime events. As such, we plan our late-night stays at Magic Kingdom around lazy mornings, just to ensure that everyone is energized for the night.

For Chef Mickey's, we prefer a late lunch or an early dinner, as these enable us to cruise on over from MK on the monorail for our wonderful meal, then right back onto the monorail for more time in the park.

One quick dining tip for Quick-Service meals? Anticipate the crowds and dine early. This will make meals easier, as you are already at your table when the lines begin to grow.

Regarding other dining experiences, send another question that lets me know if you'll be on a Disney Dining Plan and which resort you'll call home while there. Let me know, too, if your family has any particular favorites, as I'm sure that you'll find them in WDW.  I'd love to help!
