We are traveling to WDW with a 1&3 year old and plan to do 2/3 days at MK with some downtime at the hotel. We want a short commute so we can come back for naps and avoid meltdowns, hotel activities for the kids, and separate bedrooms/large rooms.

Hi Rob! Traveling with younger children can pose more issues and it is good to try to get all that figured out before you come.

Since you are planning your days at the Magic Kingdom park I would suggest you consider one of the three deluxe resorts that are on the same monorail loop as the park. These resorts are the Contemporary, the Polynesian, and the Grand Floridian. These resorts would be close enough to come and go throughout the day without a lot of transportation hassle. They all have great pools with children's activities around the pool area each day.

Your final request is the toughest one to find. Unless you are reserving a suite in the resorts the rooms will all be one room and a bathroom. These three resorts do have Disney Vacation Club (DVC) areas that have one and two bedroom units. They go to DVC owners first to reserve but they can also be reserved by guests if they have not been taken. Be sure and check on this option when you call. Otherwise you would need to reserve two connecting rooms with the inside door that can be opened between the two.

If you have more questions as you are planning we are happy to help along the way!
