Traveling to WDW thanksgiving week. Have reservations@garden grill w/ characters 8:25 am. Staying at Hilton burns vista. Use car or take bus from hotel?also is there free parkingfor us bc it's Disney property? How much time should I allow us to get there?

Hi Terry! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so glad to assist you.

A trip to the Walt Disney World Resort for Thanksgiving sure sounds magical! With all of the holiday happenings, I hope that it will kick off your holiday season in a cheerful and uplifting fashion. The new breakfast character dining option at The Garden Grill is new and I can't wait to try it out myself.

While the hotel that you are staying at is considered an “Official Walt Disney World Hotel,” it is not actually owned by Disney. It is my understanding that you will however receive some of the perks offered to Walt Disney World Resort Guests. If I have the correct hotel (please be sure to double check) you may even have access to Extra Magic Hours.

When thinking about transportation, you will have to check with your hotel to see if their complimentary shuttle will actually be running early enough to get you to Epcot on the day of your dining reservation.  If you decide to drive, you will have to pay for parking as parking is not included. I would also allow up to an hour for transportation from your hotel. Traffic can be congested especially during the holidays, and around park opening and closing. I always allow plenty of drive time, and take into consideration parking and travel time from the parking lot to the entrance. Please also allow time to check in at the park entrance since your dining reservation will most likely be before the park opens.

I hope that you have a magical dining experience! We look forward to hEARing from you soon!
