We are traveling to WDW Satuday and I remember hearing last year about using Nintendo DS in the parks. Users were able to play games related to the attraction que they were in and see how long waits were for other attraction. Is this still available?

    Hi Santiago,

How exciitng-this is the last few days of waiting were we can barely sleep from anticipation! I actually asked about this technology when we were there with our boys a few months ago, as their DS' are permanently attached to their bodies. I thought it would be great to use them to interact within the parks and for advice on wait times.

The way the system was explained to me by the Cast Members I spoke with, is that it is a test system they were trying out at the time. The system was available by using "special" handheld DS' given to the guests for the day. I would imagine that Disney was trying to determine how easy and accurate it might be and the guests feedback on it's popularity. It is my understanding that they are not testing this program at this time and it is not in place for use with a DS that you would carry into the park with you. I have heard no information on how well the program worked or if it has plans to become a permanent fixture in the parks.

There is always a chance that this has changed or even that they have begun testing the program again. My suggestion would be to stop at the guest relations counter and inquire about the program. The Cast Members will be able to tell you if it is currently available. If you get a chance to check it out, be sure to come back and let us know how you like it. Finally I would find a good reason to carry those Nintendo DS' to the parks everyday.

Hope you have an amazing time!
