Traveling to WDW in January, the first time for the kids: Girl (11) and Boys (10,7,5). Lovers of Star Wars and rides. Staying off resort. What recommendations for Fast Pass? Eating? Things to do? Want to make it a good trip but stay within budget.

Greetings, M! I love that you used an initial… it’s much like “E” from The Incredibles: Fashionable, Mysterious, Heroic!  And speaking of heroes, you’re going to be quite the NO CAPES Crusader to your kids come January. I highly recommend that you visit both Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom. You’ll find everything Star Wars at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, from Star Tours the attraction to the Launch Bay and personal interactions with Kylo Ren, Chewie and BB-8, to the fantastic nighttime spectacle: Star Wars: A Galactic spectacular. Top it off with The Hollywood Tower of Terror and Rockin’ Rollercoaster and your kids will be so happy!

Magic Kingdom is full of rides, both family friendly and thrilling. Take a turn around Big Thunder Mountain Railroad or Seven Dwarfs Mine Train after the tranquil, classic sights of Peter Pan’s Flight, all with minimum wait due to FastPass+ reservations (make these 30 days before your are due to visit the park, when staying offsite). Pose for a family picture under Cinderella Castle and snack on classic Mickey Ice Cream Bars or feast from the many collectible Popcorn Buckets. For a budget friend fun time, pick up a free pack of cards from the Main Street Firehouse and play Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom to defeat evil villains in the park from taking over. My son and husband adore this walking game!

My family’s favorite meal spots are Pecos Bill’s Tall Tale Inn for Nachos and Casey’s Corner for mini corn dogs (we visit this eatery every time we are in town!). Casual quick-service literally fits the bill and our style when it comes to kids. I hope you have a magical vacation, and please return to ask as many questions as you like. I have so much more to tell you! ~ Lindsey P.
