Hi we are traveling to WDW from Jan 21, 2012 thru Jan 28, 2012. We are wondering what may be closed while we are there. Also, what places have longer hours special nights etc. This is our first vacation with our kids. 6 and 8. Thanks

Welcome to the Moms Panel Karey!  We're so glad you're hEAR!

A first trip to Disney with your kids is always special.  I just love seeing it through my boys' eyes. Be sure to pick up "1st Visit" buttons for them from Guest Relations.

To see a list of scheduled Operational Updates for each park, click on these links:

    Magic Kingdom
    Epcot
    Disney's Hollywood Studios
    Disney's Animal Kingdom

From there, select January 2012 from the drop down list beside the View Month tab. That will give you a list of the hours of operation & Extra Magic Hours for each day. To check for scheduled Operational Updates, click on your dates of travel. To the right of the schedule for a particular day, you will see closings if any are currently scheduled.

You can also check on www.allears.net .  Search for "Rehabs and Closures". It is an unofficial Disney website but they do an excellent job of giving you the info in one location. You can confirm by clicking on the links on the official Walt Disney World website shown above. Keep in mind that any attraction may close at any time without notice for a number of reasons.

Typhoon Lagoon is scheduled for its annual refurbishment during your trip.  Other than that, there aren't any closures listed but that could change so keep your eyes open on the links shown above.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions during your planning.  We're super happy to assist you!  Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison
