I will be traveling to WDW in Feb of this year for my 40th Bday with a 12 yr old girl and a 7 yr old boy. My hubby will be staying behind. There are still vacancies at AKL , Savannah View and Pool View. Would this be a good fit? Any other advice?

    HI Jennifer!

I think the Animal Kingdom Lodge is a great choice for your Walt Disney World vacation! The resort is absolutely breathtaking, and offers tons of activities for your kids!

Our kids (very close in age to yours) love this resort as they get a glimpse of the "wild side"! With zebras and giraffes right outside, its hard to be bored! Activities such as African story-telling by the outdoor firepit and animal viewing with night vision goggles are sure to keep the kids active and engaged, while you all enjoy some downtime at the resort. If your kids enjoy cooking or even just dining, a culinary tour of the lodge's restaurants is usually offered in the afternoon.

The zero-entry pool and pool slides provide some extra fun for the kids while Mom has a chance to relax in the lounge chairs (with a nice frozen drink!). Hidden Mickeys are throughout the resort, and offer a great way to start noticing all the details of this amazing resort!

Another great advantage of the lodge is the wonderful restaurants. Guests have three choices: Mara - a counter service restaurant located very near the pool area that's great for a grab and go meal, Boma - African inspired buffets, an excellent choice for both breakfast and dinner, and Jiko, a fine dining experience that always receives high marks.

One last note - one room option is bunk beds. This is a HUGE peace keeper in our families! No more arguing over sleeping arrangements!

I hope you have a great trip! And Happy Birthday (a little early!)!!
