Hi! We're traveling to WDW in December with small children for the first time! I'm wondering if there is some sort of lost child protocol with the magic bands/at all that we need to look into. We want to be prepared in a worst case scenario! Thanks

    Hello Lindsay,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for asking such an important question!
As soon as I read your enquiry my heart missed a beat as it's every parents worse nightmare to lose sight of their precious child - even for just a brief moment of time. I know this only too well because it's happened to me during a visit to a Disney Park.  My family and I were happily enjoying the magic of Disney's Animal Kingdom Park when our youngest son who was around 6 years old at the time slipped our watchful gaze in the crowds...thankfully he only was lost for literally moments, but at the time it felt like an absolute age.
We were grateful of the prompt actions and reassurance of nearby Cast Members who once alerted to a lost child were instantly in radio contact with a wider circle of Cast Members; it's helpful to know that children who become separated from their family will be cared for by Cast Member Childcare Services and safely looked after at the nearest Baby Care Centre
When our Mouseketeers were old enough we ensured they could recognise Cast Members by their unique name tags, this way if they ever got separated they could define a Cast Member from another Guest and could ask for help.  It's not something I've tried, but I know some parents purchase online personalised ID bracelets prior to vacations or trips - these useful bracelets could provide extra peace of mind as they can contain useful cell phone numbers and important contact information.
Above all, please try not to let this worry cloud your excitement for your upcoming magical December trip to Walt Disney World Resort.
