Hello, Traveling to WDW (by car) in Aug. Goal is to arrive in the area 8/16 and have a day before our res. starts 8/18. I'm hoping for 1) tips on things to do w/o tickets 8/17 and 2) opinion on which water park for 8/18 before check-in to YC. TY!

    Hello, Lynne!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  Here are my Disney Tips for things to do without Disney Parks Tickets:

    1.  Visit Disney Springs!  This shopping and entertainment area is an incredible place to find your favorite Disney gear, eat at some spectacular restaurants, watch a movie, or bowl with your family. Disney has greatly expanded the area by adding brand new shops and restaurants, so you could literally spend a whole day here and not see or experience everything!

    2.  Experience Chip 'n' Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort!  My daughter and I went to the campfire a few weeks ago, and we LOVED it!  Your whole family can make s'mores, have a cowboy sing-a-long, meet Chip and Dale, and see a classic Disney movie!  The sing-a-long is free, but you can purchase a s'mores kit and drinks at the event.

    3.  Make a dinner reservation at a Disney Resort!  Some of the best restaurants at Walt Disney World are at the Disney Resorts!  My personal favorites are Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and 'Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.

My favorite Disney Water Park is most definitely Disney's Typhoon Lagoon!  You can swim with the sharks and ride the coolest water coaster, Crush 'n' Gusher!

    Have a MAGICAL day!
