We are traveling to WDW Aug15-21 w/ 2 sons ages 1 & 3. Im planning to visit MK, AK and HS and considering doing a park every other day to give my kids downtime in between. Is there usually a difference in crowds between the weekdays & weekends, esp

    Lauren:

You will find that the crowds on the weekdays are markedly smaller than on the weekends at Walt Disney World. The thought is that local guests add to the park numbers significantly more on the weekends than during the week.

I think your game plan of spending a day at your resort between theme park days makes a lot of sense, especially for the ages of your sons and the heat index of mid-August. I usually recommend to guests that you visit the smaller parks like Magic Kingdom and Disney's Hollywood Studios on the weekdays and the larger parks like Epcot and Animal Kingdom on the weekends. However, if you have a choice, weekdays are preferable across the board. Additionally, you will probably find that visiting the parks near the end of your dates will find smaller crowds as schools begin to go back in session.

Wishing y'all low crowds and a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
