I will be traveling to Walt Disney World in Dec 2015 with three grandchildren, ages 2, and twin boys ages 5. What rides and activities do you recommend. Will arrive 17-31 Dec. When should I buy my tickets. I am retired military.

    Hi Dennis,
Thanks for coming to the Moms Panel to ask your question! My kids favorite attractions in the Magic Kingdom at that age were Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, It's A Small World and Dumbo the Flying Elephant. They also enjoy Disney's Festival of Fantasy Parade. Disney's Hollywood Studios offers Disney Junior-Live On Stage, which my kids still enjoy at ages 4 and 7. This show currently features (subject to change) all the kids favorites from Disney Junior shows Doc McStuffins, Sofia the First, Jake and the Never Land Pirates and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. There are many shows to see while in Epcot; I would suggest checking a Times Guide when entering the park for details, but they never cease to entertain my family! Finally, in Disney's Animal Kingdom, our favorite attraction is Kilimanjaro Safaris.

Regarding your tickets, I suggest purchasing them from your local Morale, Welfare and Recreation/Information, Tickets and Travel office about three months before you arrive. They may have to order tickets, which can take several weeks. You will receive an Exchange Pass that you will bring with you to the Walt Disney World Resort ticket windows to trade for a ticket. The code on the back of your pass can be entered into My Disney Experience so you can make FastPass+ selections in advance (60 days if you are staying in a Walt Disney World Resort hotel and 30 days if you are staying off property, including Shades of Green). If your local MWR/ITT doesn't offer Disney tickets, there are several resources on www.militarydisneytips.com that can help you get tickets mailed to your home.

I hope you and your family have a great vacation!

    Best Wishes,
    Amy B.
