Traveling with teens and pre-teens we willlikely split up at times and the teens may even be on their own some. As they will each have there KTTW card can we limit the ability to charge on it in case it is lost? Also, can they be replaced if lost?

Unfortunately, Shaun, charging privileges on the Key To The World cards is an all or nothing type of thing; it's not possible to put a charging cap on the teens/tweens cards.  I asked to do just that during my most recent trip, and the Cast Member who checked us in at the Boardwalk said it couldn't be done.   The good news, however, is that lost cards can most definitely be replaced.  My husband, ahem, misplaced his card a few years ago.  We noticed it was missing while we were visiting the Polynesian for a meal and--even though we weren't staying there--the Cast Members at the front desk were able to cancel his old card.  We were issued a new one when we returned to our home resort that evening.

As for the charging dilemma, perhaps a solution would be to purchase a Disney gift card for each young person.  That way, you could effectively limit the amount each of them was permitted to spend.  Good luck!
