Traveling with son who is autistic, what's the best location to ask for at Polynesian? Anyone have experience with traveling with teenager with disability - tips?

Hello, Nancy, welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

My Autistic teenage son loves Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and enjoys both the Lava Pool and the Oasis Pool. Based on that I feel that the best buildings for proximity to both pools and main dining in the Great Ceremonial House are Samoa and Niue. As well, for early morning and late night hunger pangs, Room Service is convenient.

Recreation at this South Pacific themed hotel is plenty and renting the watercraft is a hit with my son, as well as the 'Campfire and Movies Under the Stars' activities. Nothing beats watching the spectacular fireworks show soaring over Cinderella Castle right from this deluxe Resort hotel- a perfect way to end an evening.

Disney's Resort Monorail stops at this Resort hotel on the way to Magic Kingdom Park and is a quick ride back if you and your son need to return in the afternoon to relax, recharge, or have a fun swim.

I rely on Disney's Resource for Guests with Cognitive Disabilities, a handy planning tool offering tips for creating a Visual Schedule, useful ideas and advice on pages 9 and 10. May I recommend Disney's Disability Access Service (DAS) which helps us out when my son is unable to wait in a conventional queue.

Best Disney wishes for a magically memorable vacation, Nancy, thank you for your question!
