We will be traveling with someone with diabetes. We are wondering where we could get desserts that are sugar free. Also, do you know if Les Halles Boulangerie- Patisserie would have anything he could have. Trying to accommodate everyone, leaving out no one

    Hi Rebecca!

We often visit Walt Disney World with my mom who is a type 2 diabetic. We have found some wonderful options for her and she has been able to enjoy a variety of foods while on vacation!

For table service dining, be sure to let them know when you check-in and with the Cast Member assisting your table, that there are restrictions. We found that when we did this, my mom had a better experience. Usually, the chef would come to our table to go over the menu with her.  There were sometimes items we would not have known had hidden sugars in them. Also, they may be able to adjust menu items to meet your needs or offer dessert options not on the standard menu.

Even at quick-service locations, I recommend asking questions and letting them know what you are looking for. Currently, Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie does not offer a specific low sugar dessert. Perhaps an iced cappuccino might be a cool and refreshing treat? While not every location will offer a lower sugar item, there are several options throughout the resort:

     * At Magic Kingdom, stop by the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor for no sugar added ice cream.
     * At Epcot, the Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe in Norway offers a no sugar added option. While the Electric Umbrella will be closing in late November 2019, currently, they offer a no sugar added brownie.
     * At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, check out the ABC Commissary for a no sugar added strawberry parfait, or Hollywood Scoops for no sugar added ice cream.
     * At Disney Springs visit Sprinkles for a sugar-free Red Velvet Cupcake!
     * Goofy’s Candy Company sells several sugar-free candy options, and you'll find select options available for sale in many shops.

I hope this helps, Rebecca. Let us know if you have additional questions!

    Have a Magical Day!
