Hi, we are traveling next month and will be staying at Port Orleans Riverside. I have a 4 1/2 yr old and 23 month old. I am wondering if the nearly two year old will like the trundle bed or if he's too young.

Welcome to the Moms Panel Emily!  We're so glad you're hEAR!

I just returned from a stay at Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort.   My 6 1/2 year old got a big kick out of the trundle bed.  It easily rolls under the bed.  It reminded me of a crib mattress only longer and is very low to the floor.

I think this will depend on your son.  Some kids that age love hotels and will go right to sleep anywhere - especially after a long fun-filled day in the parks.  Other kids may not sleep well in hotels so they may do better in a bed.  There are other kids that may feel a little separation anxiety if they are on the trundle and can't see you on the bed. Your 4 1/2 year old may get a bigger kick out of it especially if you make a big deal about how "cool" it is and that Mickey sent it just for them.

If you decide to put your 23 month old in bed with you and are worried about him falling off, you can request a bedrail to put on the side of the bed.  I have a special needs son and we request a bedrail at every resort.

I hope this helps you make some decisions.  Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison
