A Ride in the Teacups

If traveling with a new baby, what are some helpful tips for riding the rides babies can’t go on?

    Hey Howdy Hey, Stephanie!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. The Disneyland Resort is so accommodating to families with children of all ages, even infant Guests! You will be surprised at just how much you can experience with your baby at the Happiest Place on Earth.

Any attraction without a height requirement means you can take your little one with you to ride. Babies will love the slow-moving family-friendly attractions in Fantasyland of Disneyland Park. You'll want to take a spin on Dumbo the Flying Elephant, soar on Peter Pan's Flight, and sail on "it's a small world." Also, don't forget about all the modes of transportation in the park like the Disneyland Railroad, Main Street Vehicles, and Mark Twain Riverboat to name a few. These offer amazing views and visual stimulation that babies will just love. Over in Disney California Adventure Park, I recommend taking a scenic ride on Pixar Pal-A-Round and The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel's Undersea Adventure.

If you would like to ride more thrilling attractions that your little one is too small to experience, you will want to take advantage of the Rider Switch Service. This allows your baby to wait with another member of your party while you ride. The person waiting with your baby will then get a FASTPASS return time to skip the standby queue to ride when you are finished. We always used this service while my son was napping in his stroller so we could ride favorites like Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, or Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT! to name a few.

Also, you'll want to utilize the convenient Baby Care Centers located in each park to feed or change your baby with a little more privacy. These also come in handy if you need to purchase any essentials like diapers or wipes during your time in the parks.

I hope this helps, and please return if you have any other questions. "You've Got a Friend in Me" here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
