traveling with a 9 month old in September - how are the baby centers?

    Hi Stephanie!

Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation sounds practically perfect in every way! Seeing Walt Disney World Resort through the eyes of your nine month old will take your breath away. Absolutely magical!

Like your little one, my son was nine months old when he first visited Walt Disney World Resort and I don't know what we would have done without the Baby Care Centers. They are fabulous! Located within all four theme parks, they are climate controlled and are the perfect place to change, feed or nurse your kiddo. In each of the Baby Care Centers, you will find a friendly Cast Member, private nursing room, changing room with tables, feeding area with highchairs, kitchen area with microwave and sink, and a small shop with your basic baby needs such as diapers, baby food, wipes, and more. We visited the Baby Care Centers numerous times over the years and they were game changers each and every time. They were the perfect place to not only change our little ones but also to decompress a bit from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks. As amazing as everything is throughout the theme parks, it can be very stimulating and our little ones may need some down time. The Baby Care Centers are the perfect place to change and feed your little one, rest for a few moments and then head back out for more magic!

As you are planning your vacation, I also want to add a few tips to help make your time more enjoyable for you and your family.

When you are out and about, be sure you have a small blanket or towel with you. Use it to cover the seat of your stroller when you are inside an attraction. The warm Florida sun can make the stroller very hot on your little one's skin and the towel or blanket will help keep it cool. When not being used to cover the stroller, the blanket will be great for nap time or late in the evening. Please note, effective May 1, 2019, "strollers that are greater than 31" (79 cm) in width and 52" (132 cm) in length will be prohibited. Stroller wagons will also be prohibited." For more information, please refer to the Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules.

Other important theme park items include: sunscreen, sunglasses and/or a hat if your child will wear them, change of clothes in a plastic storage bag, small snacks if needed, water, and any baby essentials. For added magic, an autograph book and pen will be great for meeting Disney Characters and is the perfect way to save treasured memories. I recommend the style where you can put a photograph on one side and have the Character sign on the other side. If you plan to enjoy a meal in a table service restaurant, you might also want to include a small toy or something to entertain your little one while you wait for your meal.

Oh my goodness! Your question makes my heart so happy! I know you are going to make countless magical memories while on vacation! Take oodles of photos!!

Thanks so much for sharing your question with the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Please let me know if you need any other information as you plan your nine month old's first trip to Walt Disney World Resort!
