We will be traveling with a 9 month old and I am not sure what to do about her formula. At home, we mix up all of her bottles with warm tap water. Is the Disney tap water safe? Do we bring a cooler to carry around all of her bottles throughout the day?

    Hi Amber,

Great to hear you're planning ahead!  Tap water at Disney? Well, it meets all of the health requirements so it should be safe. However, it tastes awful. This also holds true for the drinking fountains. If your DD is picky, she may not like the way the formula tastes mixed with their tap water.  I'd go with bottled water. Bottled water is readily available at the theme parks & resorts.

I'm not sure where you're staying & if you'll have access to a microwave in your room or not so that you could warm up the formula. If not, you could sit the bottle in a cup of hot water to raise the temperature. You could also try getting your DD use to drinking formula at room temperature - it made our lives so much easier once we did. Although it is generally way more expensive, we used the individual serving packages of formula that we could mix up for immediately use while we were in the parks - they are easier to carry around & super light so you don't have to carry around premixed bottles all day. This eliminated our need for a cooler to carry around bottles. When we're in the parks, anything that will lighten our load & one less thing to carry around is worth it.

There are Baby Care Centers located in all of the theme parks. They provide excellent places to escape the crowds & take care of your baby's needs. They have nice changing areas, high chairs, microwaves to heat up formula & food, rocking chairs & private nursing rooms. They also sell baby products in case you need something.

If you have items that you'd like to bring in the parks, but don't need immediate access to, you could rent a locker to store some of the items. Just keep in mind that most locker rental locations are near the entrances of the parks so you may have a bit of a hike to get back to your locker when the time comes.

Wishing you many magical memories :-) Allison
