I am traveling in may with a 5 year old and a 14 year old . Are there things for a teenagers?

    Absolutely!

Many kids have their first WDW experience as teenagers. Walt Disney World is a place for everyone.  I’ve vacationed there with people of all ages. My first trip was at 11 and I’ve been hooked ever since.

Depending on your teen’s interests and ride tolerance, there are many attractions geared towards teens. In the Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland, I often see teens running for Space Mountain . While Buzz Lightyear is a hero to small kids, teens seem to enjoy this interactive ride while racking up more points than their parents. More thrills await at Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain.

In Hollywood Studios, the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror keep thrill riders returning again and again. The Animal Kingdom’s Dinosaur ride, Expedition Everest, Kali River Rapids and It’s a Bug Life attraction are popular. At Epcot, Test Track, Mission Space and Soarin’ are the headliners.

Although, they won’t always admit it, teens are often amazed by the attractions too. The coasters aren’t just made of steel. They have amazing special effects. The loud music to Aerosmith tunes at Rock ‘n’ Roller will come as a delightful surprise to them.

Fantasmic! and Illuminations are fun evening outings for teens. Downtown Disney offers five floors of interactive gaming at DisneyQuest and a 24-screen AMC theater.

If your teen likes to swim, not only will your resort pool be a nice place to cool off, but the water parks offer a great place to hang out and meet other kids their age.

Depending on your teen, you may be able to let him/her take a second whirl on Space Mountain, while you entertain the younger child in Fantasyland. I’ve heard families say that after giving their child some personal space they were more apt to enjoy family time together. You do what works best for your family and you are sure to have a wonderful trip!

If your teen thanks you for taking them to one of the most exciting places on Earth, just consider it a bonus.
