We are traveling May 18-24 and staying at the Coronado with our 3 girls (6.4 and almost 2). Which would be better for an inexpensive dinner and light entertainment outside the parks...Boardwalk or Downtown Disney?

Hi, Patrick! How nice of you to be planning a trip to Walt Disney World for your four ladies. Hopefully this will buy you some insurance / leveraging power in your daughters' teenage years.

It's hard to go wrong with either the BoardWalk or Downtown Disney (betcha knew we'd say that.) Now, that being said, I think you'll find more shops and dining options (where you don't need reservations) at Downtown Disney. Plus, bus transportation is a little easier going from Coronado to Downtown Disney than Coronado to the BoardWalk.

Two of the best counter service restaurants are on the Marketplace side of Downtown Disney: Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Puck Express. There is beaucoup de shopping nearby too, even if you're just window shopping. There are hands-on places like the Lego store. There's a performance area right outside the Lego store that may have some form of entertainment. You can get free chocolate squares from Ghirardelli. Another fun thing to do is visit the Christmas shop and pick out a family ornament to remember the trip.
