I am traveling with a large group for 10 days to Disney. We did not purchase military tickets or accommodations. One of our group members Is military, can they purchased a memory maker for our group at the military discount?

    Welcome BACK, Johanna!

It's great to see you asking another Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question to us hEAR at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Mine is a Military family too, and I can confirm that yes, as long as the Service Member is currently Active Duty, Active Reserves, a full-Retiree or has a 100% service connected disability, your group will be able to purchase the U.S. Military Member rate of Memory Maker just fine. I actually did this on a trip to Mickey's House two years ago where neither our Disney Theme Park Tickets nor the Disney Resort Hotel rooms were the military versions. All your group will need is the Military ID holder and their ID and you'll be good to go!

What you'll actually be buying is the "Starts Immediately" version of the Memory Maker package where you'll have access to all photos immediately after paying. And what's really neat is if you're in a time crunch and your first chance to purchase this photo download package is later in the afternoon of day 1 or maybe not even until day 3, all of the photos that your group has taken will still show up and be included.

    Pro Tips:
~ It is better to purchase this PhotoPass product sooner rather than later, just for peace of mind. If your arrival day is before your first Disney Theme Park Day, my top tip is to purchase this product at the Disney Springs Guest Relations location as this office is usually open pretty late, and afterward you're surrounded by great shopping and dining options.
~ Go ahead and make sure now that everyone in your travel party is connected to everyone else in all of your My Disney Experience accounts. Usually the person with the Military ID is the primary account holder for the Memory Maker, and if your group has plans to split up at all (four people go to that attraction while another 3 people go meet that Princess) this will ensure that any photos taken without the primary person will still link to the Memory Maker.
~ Also the person who purchases the Memory Maker will be the only one who can view these photos on their device without a watermark. Your Service Member can download the photos right away and text them out to everyone or create a shared photo album in your phones. But what I usually do is let whoever was in my travel party have access to my account after we're all home and that way they can download the photos they want.

I hope this helped to plan your upcoming Disney Days, Johanna, and We'll See You Real Soon!
