    Ileana from FL Asked

we are traveling with our grandchildren's and like to know if they need passports for the 3 day Bahama cruise?

    Ahoy, Ileana!
How exciting to hEAR that you have a GRAND vacation aboard Disney Cruise Line planned! It really is one of the best multigenerational experiences with all that Captain Mickey has to offer on the high seas. During your three-night getaway, you'll find there is so much to do aboard for every age! You'll want to keep a close eye on your daily cruise newsletter, the Personal Navigator and the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app (free for download for Apple or Android devices) for Disney Character Meet and Greets, Broadway-style shows, family games, first-run movies, variety acts and so much more!
As you prepare for three magical nights at sea, you'll want to make sure you have the correct documentation for your crew. With a closed-loop cruise (beginning and ending in the same U.S. port), state- issued birth certificates are acceptable for Guests to use instead of passports. But, Disney Cruise Line does strongly recommend Guests travel with valid U.S. Passports in the unexpected case of an emergency while visiting a foreign port of a call. Air travel to and from the Bahamas does require passports so having one ensures you and your grandchildren will be able to return to the United States without any issues. My best advice is to read over the helpful Passport Information that Disney Cruise Line provides on their website so you can make the best decision for your grandchildren. Also, if your grandchildren's parents are not traveling with you, a Minor Authorization Form will need to be completed and presented at the cruise terminal during check-in.
Thank you for stopping by to "sea" us, Ileana! If we can help you further, please let us know.
    Have a wonderful day!
