We are traveling with 5 kids and have booked a number of Fast Passes. One of the kids is only 3, so a few times we booked him and one adult on a separate ride. Is there a problem switching the adult fast pass if he wants mom instead of dad for example?

I bet you and your family are so excited about your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort trip! We're a larger family also (we have four children) and our youngest is four years old. Our two girls do not generally enjoy the thrill rides but our sons are more like us-they just can't get enough! Enter one of my hands-down favorite services at the Walt Disney World Resort: the Rider Switch Service. Here's how it works: your entire party goes up to the Cast Member working the line at your chosen attraction and asks for a Rider Switch Pass. From there, you split into two groups: the riders and the waiters. The riders get into line (Stand-by or FastPass+ line, if they have one for the selected attraction) for the attraction. The waiters hang out and wait for the first group to finish (we like to walk around but stay in the same general area). Once they are done, you switch. If Dad has gone on the first round of the attraction, Mom takes the Rider Switch pass for the second round (with up to three kids) into the FastPass+ line and rides the attraction with the kids while Dad waits for Mom to finish. It's a win/win-both Mom and Dad get to experience the attraction and (wait for it-the kids LOVE this part) the kids get to ride it TWICE!

Alternately, we have swapped Magic Bands when our little one decided that she'd rather ride with one parent rather than the other. As long as there's a valid FastPass+ reservation linked to the Magic Band, you should have no problems.

Jessica, I hope you and your family have a fantastic vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort!

    Best Wishes,
    Amy B.
