We will be traveling to Florida April 2-9. Our first day at Disney will be the 3rd and is also my daughters 7th birthday. She has never been to Disney before and I was wondering what type of things there are which can make her birthday extra special.

    Hi Nicole:

There is no better place to celebrate a birthday or plan a special vacation than at Walt Disney World. Of course just being at Disney World is enough to make any vacation or birthday special. But here are some ideas to make the visit extra special:
    • If you are staying on property, let the Cast Members know that it's your daughter's birthday when you check in. It's possible the front desk may be able to help arrange some Disney magic for your daughter.
    • Remember to check in at City Hall at the Magic Kingdom, or at guest relations at other parks, and pick up a birthday button. Many Cast Members will go out of their way to wish your daughter a Happy Birthday or greet her with a kind gesture to make the day more memorable.
    • You also may consider contacting the Dream Makers at Disney Floral and Gifts at (407) WDW-GIFT or (407) 939-4438. They can help create a personalized in-room celebration featuring your daughters' favorite Disney characters.
    • Arrange a special character meal dining reservation. You usually cannot go wrong with a character breakfast at Chef Mickey's.
    • Consider a princess make-over appointment at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.
    • A simple treat, like buying a your daughter a balloon or bag of popcorn on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom, will likely bring a huge smile to your daughter.

    Enjoy this special vacation.
