We will be traveling on our first Disney Cruise this summer. We have been keeping the secret from our 2 children. I would like to suprise them and have the Character Call reveal the secret. Are the calls recorded? Or can the children actually interact?

    Ahoy, Jessica!
Congratulations on booking your very first Disney Cruise - you're in for the time of your life. I know it's been tough to keep your excitement a secret!

Disney Cruise Line Character Calls are a really fun way to let your kids know they'll soon be sailing with Captain Mickey. The calls are a recorded greeting from either Mickey Mouse, Goofy, or Mickey and Minnie together. Your child will not be able to talk to or interact with the characters during the call, but they'll certainly be excited to hear from some of their favorite Disney friends!

To schedule a call, simply visit the Planning Center on the Disney Cruise Line website. You'll find a tab for Character Calls, and it's a very simple process to set it up. All you have to do is choose which Disney Character you'd like to hear from, then choose a date and time to receive the call. We're cruising soon, and received our call from Mickey and Minnie last week! I put my phone on speaker so the whole family could hear. My kids loved it! The call won't show up as Disney Cruise Line on your caller I.D., so make sure you make a note of when you've scheduled your call so you'll be expecting it.

I hope all goes well with your big reveal. Wishing you a magical time on your Disney Cruise!
    Bon Voyage - Diane W.
