Hi I am going to be traveling with my family to Walt Disney World in April. This will be our first time at Walt Disney World. My question is I have a 14 year old and a 7 year old girls will there be enough stuff to do for both kids at the parks?

Hello, Jennifer! Congratulations on your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation! There's something so magical about experiencing the Disney theme parks with family for the first time. I always loved to visit Walt Disney World as a child, but I honestly enjoy it even more now that I am a mom to a sweet six year old daughter.

My 14 year old nephew recently traveled with my family to Walt Disney World, and like you, I was a little concerned about finding things that would be appropriate (and exciting) for the whole family to experience together. Most of the rides and attractions at Walt Disney World are absolutely appropriate for the entire family, but there are some things that my older nephew enjoyed that my daughter did not even want to try, like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. On these occasions, I took my daughter to experience her favorite little girl experiences (like Enchanted Tales with Belle) while my husband took my nephew to do the wilder rides. Both kids got to experience their favorites, and we were only separated for a moment.

Most of the attractions really are exciting for all age groups to enjoy together, so there will be plenty of things that both of your girls will really enjoy at each of the four theme parks. Make sure to choose Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at Magic Kingdom Park for one of your FastPass+ selections. It's my new favorite Magic Kingdom attraction, as it is a mild but wild family coaster themed like Disney's Snow White story.

If you have any additional questions about your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World, please do not hesitate to stop back by the Moms Panel, Jennifer. We are happy to provide suggestions based on our personal experiences to help you plan a most magical vacation. Happy planning!
