We are traveling to DW in Jan. We have a large group 4 families. We are plan to visit the parks together but spit up inside. We are planning to eat at least 1 meal together. Can you give my any advice? Can motorized chairs travel on the buses?

    Kimberly:

As a mom whose planned two formal Grand Gatherings and several trips with just lots of friends, it sounds like you've taken a page right out of my playbook!  Your plan to have everyone visit the same park, splitting up inside is spot-on and your planned meal will be memorable.

    Additional advice I'd consider:
    • Think ahead about where and when you want to take a group photo.  If you want the traditional pose in front of Cinderella Castle, make sure you're there early in the morning and go all the way up Main Street, and ask a PhotoPass photographer to take your picture with YOUR camera for no charge or download HIS picture on multiple PhotoPass cards so you're not taking pictures all day with a million different cameras.
    • Big groups can sometimes mean a lost parent (or child).  Make sure that everyone knows your meeting place in each park should you get separated, along with how to identify cast members who could help.  I suggest somewhere that has a tall icon for children to see and remember.
    • Have the adults swap nights taking care of the kiddos.  The parks (not to mention the dining) take on a different enjoyment when you're on a "date".
    • My favorite restaurants for large parties: Biergarten (for its large tables that seat 10 & entertainment), Teppan Edo (large tables & chef entertainment), Hoop dee Doo Revue (family-style meal & entertainment), Sanaa (sampler plates & animal viewing), and Crystal Palace (buffet and Character greeting).
As for ECVs on the buses, you'll have no problem.  Most buses can fit two ECV's at a time and have lifts for easy boarding.  Once on, the bus driver simply locks the ECV in place with its driver remaining seated.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
