    Karen from NH Asked

I am traveling to DisneyWorld next year with my 9 month old girl. We are deciding between the Wilderness Lodge and the Polynesian, which do you think would be easier? Also what can I expect from a 9 month old on the trip? I am a first time mom. Thanks

Hi, Karen!  I think just for the ease of having convenient access to the monorail, I would choose to stay at the Polynesian.  Much of the travel you would do from Wilderness Lodge would be by bus, but at least you could get to the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and the other monorail resorts for dinner and shopping if you stay at the Polynesian.  It helps not only with going into and coming out of the theme parks, but it's nice if you have to go back for a nap during the day as well.

I have taken all of my girls to Walt Disney World by that age, and the reactions vary.  I took my girls on whatever attractions I could, and even at that age, I'd have babies clapping, babies smiling, and one who would hum with the music.

I tried to keep them on somewhat of a familiar schedule, even though I'm not the kind of mom that would go back to the resort for naps.  My kids could sleep anywhere, and having them fall asleep was usually a great time for us to grab a bite to eat or browse some shops.

Remember to pack more than you think you'll need.  That means extra diapers, wipes, formula, and outfits.  I also always brought something familiar - a blanket from the crib, or a favorite toy.

I hope you have a wonderful vacation!  I have the most amazing memories from my babies' first trips to Walt Disney World, and I wish you the same!
