    Ashley from BC Asked

We will be traveling to Disneyland with four adults, a 40" four year old, and two toddlers. Using Space Mountain as an example, how would the Rider Switch work? We would prefer to ride in groups rather than one adult riding all alone :)

    Greetings Ashley!

Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Our family just loves the convenience of Disneyland Resort's Rider Switch Service. It's a wonderful way to let those who want to experience a thrilling attraction not miss any of the fun even if a little one is present who cannot ride. Typically this service is available at any attraction that has a height requirement.

I would love to give you an example of how this service works with Space Mountain. You must be 40" tall to ride this out-of-this-world attraction, so in your case only the toddlers would be unable to ride. Whoever plans on staying behind with the toddlers needs to be at least 14 years old. Next you want to think about who will be riding first (Party 1), and who will be staying back with the toddlers to ride later (Party 2). Keep in mind that the members of Party 2 must not exceed three people.

First, arrive to the queue entrance with your entire party and inform the first Cast Member you see that you would like to use the Rider Switch Service. He or she will then scan the park tickets of the members of Party 2 who plan on riding after. When Party 1 is finished with the attraction, they will switch to watch the little ones. Party 2 can then enter at the FASTPASS queue by scanning their tickets to redeem this entitlement. Keep in mind there is a time limit for using these Rider Switch passes, usually close to one hour after Party 1 rides. Also, you may not hold more than one Rider Switch on your ticket at any time.

Note that this service can be used in conjunction with Disney MaxPass and regular FASTPASS selections to really save you time as you partake in these exciting attractions.

I hope this helps, and please come back if you have any further questions!
