I will be traveling to Disney World with my son, who will actually be turning 6 the day we are at the park. I was told they have special birthday ribbons or stickers and will receive little treats that day. True? And where do I get it?

    Hi Shannon,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Let the birthday dancing begin! We love celebrating birthdays at the Walt Disney World Resort.

If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, simply ask a cast member at the front desk for a celebratory birthday button. We always visit during my husband's birthday and we get buttons to celebrate with him. In the parks, check with a cast member at Guest Relations or at one of the merchandise shops.

Once your son wears his button, cast members will wish him happy birthday. I also suggest making dining reservations to celebrate the special occasion. When we make a note on the reservation, many restaurants provide a little extra treat - we have received mini cupcakes and birthday cards signed by characters. Each restaurant differs, but one of our favorites that I think your son will love is The Crystal Palace. The breakfast buffet is yummy and the card signed by Winnie the Pooh and friends was cute!

If you want to do a little something extra, take a look at our Enchanting Extras Collection, Disney Floral & Gifts. or the Cakes at Walt Disney World Resort. Our girls adore elephants, so we took them on the Caring for Giants Tour on our last visit. They loved the backstage view of Disney's Animal Kingdom and were tickled to see Baby Stella in action.

Shannon, remember to make Fast Pass+ selections for his favorite rides and I am sure it will be a spectacular day!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
    Donyell
