Mom And Daughter Resort Room

We will be traveling to Disney World in may with our 6 year old (65 lbs). She gets tired easily especially in the heat. We are considering renting a stroller but aren't sure of the weight limit or if she would even fit in a single stroller. Please help.

    Hi Kevin,

The posted weight limit for the Disney single strollers is 35 pounds. In my estimation, this limit is much too low and a larger child would be perfect fine in a single weight-wise. However the single strollers are fairly narrow, possibly making them uncomfortable for an older child.

You'd be welcome to rent a double stroller for your daughter. The Disney doubles have a bench-style seat, not two individual bucket-style seats, making them a good option for a larger child.

As an alternative, you may want to consider renting from an outside agency. Many are reputable and provide a more comfortable experience than the hard plastic Disney rentals. As an added bonus, the off-site rental strollers can be used anywhere, not just in the parks. This is huge deal if you're staying at one of the larger resorts or planning on walking around Downtown Disney. Some good choices to look at are OrlandoStrollerRentals.com or KingdomStrollers.com.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if you have additional questions.
