We are traveling to Disney World on May 18, 2014 and was wanting to know what the crowds and weather are like this time of year. Also, we have to 18 year old girls traveling with us and want to surprise them with something Disney oriented, any suggestions?

    Hi Steve,

Thanks for stopping by the Moms Panel. The weather in May at Walt Disney World is probably the most pleasant of the whole year. It's just warm enough during the day for tank tops, t-shirts and shorts. At night, it's a comfortable temperature that may require a light jacket on some days. The crowds by mid-May are moderate, since it's after the Spring Break vacation rush, but right before the start of summer vacations. Keep in mind that you will be visiting during Star Wars Weekends, so if you aren't very big into Star Wars, I would suggest avoiding Disney's Hollywood Studios during the weekend.

For your 18 year old princesses that will be traveling with you, I would suggest one thing that most girls love: a trip to the spa! At Disney's Grand Floridian Resort, Senses Spa is one of the most relaxing activities for older Disney fanatics, or anyone that's looking for a unique Disney experience. Senses Spa does offer special spa packages, so surprising your girls with a full day at the spa would be a very magical addition to your vacation.

Thanks again for your question, Steve. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask us at any time. We're always here to help.

    Have a fantastical Disney day!
