Hi, Traveling to Disney World from July3-12, 2018 with a group of 15 adults & children. Very excited to go, but reading about the crowd level is depressing. Would you share some fun things that you all do during this time to help offset the crowds?

    Hi Heather,

Thanks for visiting Disney Parks Moms Panel! I've visited Walt Disney World in early July with groups of families and friends and I agree there’s lots of excitement ahead!

Here are a few tips from my own summer Disney travels.

    • Be sure to take full advantage of the My Disney Experience site and mobile application to make your FastPass+ selections and your dining reservations. Both FastPass+ and advance dining reservations can help you avoid waits for attractions and meals.
    • If you are staying at a select resort hotel, be sure to visit the parks during Extra Magic Hours. You’ll get to enjoy select attractions either before the regularly scheduled park opening or after the regularly scheduled park closing.
    • You might want to enjoy time together outside the theme parks at a water park or at Disney Springs.
    • Consider one of the dinner shows like Disney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show, Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, or Mickey's Backyard BBQ.

Here’s another tip from my personal experience with large groups: instead of doing everything together as a group of 15, plan one “all-play” event per day like a meal meetup, group show, or photo with Disney PhotoPass Service and then let the group split up to enjoy their own personal favorites for the rest of their day.

    Enjoy your magic!
