We will be traveling to Disney World for the first time in November 2008. It is for our daughter's 10 year birthday. Any advice on hotels to stay at, if the dining package is worth it, must see places for a girl her age?

I have a few recommendations.  I would recommend the Pop Century or the All star Movies Resort if you are wanting a value Resort.  If you are looking for a moderate resort, I would recommend Port Orleans French Quarter.  It has a fabulous pool.

The Dining Package:  If you are planning at least 4 table service meals the Basic Dining Plan is worth it.  If you plan on going to Cinderella's Royal Table, the Luau, perhaps another character meal like Chef Mickey's, I would recommend the Deluxe Plan.

If you aren't big eaters then I would recommend pay as you go.  I found it saved us money last year when we purchased the basic dining plan.

Ohana breakfast at the Polynesian Resort is a big hit with our ten year old. She is a huge Lilo and Stitch fan.  She liked the Akershus the best over the Cinderella's Royal Table.  We also get the picture of a princess with our family.  It only cost one table credit.

Fireworks at all the parks is a definite must.

There is a free Campfire Sing-Along with Chip & Dale at the WDW Fort Wilderness Campground. It is held near the Meadow Trading Post in the campfire area. . You may bring your own marshmallows or buy them at the Chuckwagon Snack Bar (roasting sticks and marshmallows are $2, s'mores kit is around $5). That's what it cost when we were there last year.  The sing-along lasted about 40 minutes. Right after the sing along there is a free Disney movie shown on a large outdoor screen.  You can sit on the ground with a large blanket or sit on bleachers. Hope you have a fabulous trip!! Heather M.
